Clear Braces » Lingual Braces
Braces fitted behind the teeth are described as lingual, from lingua, the Latin word for tongue. Lingual braces are made up of cast-gold or stainless steel brackets that are glued on to the back surfaces of your teeth. These brackets are joined together by a thin wire.
Demand for lingual teeth-straightening has been driven by patients who want to improve their smile and bite but don't want to be seen in braces.
At Paul Scott Orthodontics we use both the Harmony fully customised lingual system and the forestadent 2D system and the Innovation L system depending upon the complexity of your malocclusion and the tooth movements that are required.
